5 Best Places In Janesville, Wisconsin for Your Senior Portraits

Senior year is such an exciting time in a high schoolers life! And with senior year comes senior portraits. Senior portraits are a great way to document you as you are in this important, sometimes a little scary, and always exciting time in your life. They’re photos that you will look back on in years to come and be reminded of what you looked like, the things you were into, the friends you had. You’ll be reminded of what it felt like to be finishing high school and moving on to the next chapter of your life.

So you’ve booked your session with your favorite photographer, but you aren’t sure where you want your photo session to take place.Well, here are some of my favorite places in Janesville, Wisconsin for senior portrait sessions!

  1. Rotary Botanical Gardens - This is a great place during the spring and summer months! During the spring, there are tons of tulips and other spring flowers in bloom, as well as some beautiful flowering trees. The photos in this blog post were taken in May at Rotary Botanical Gardens. In the summer, the grounds are bursting with color! The weeping willows are also a great backdrop. Keep in mind that there is an entrance fee along with a $25 photography fee.

  2. Palmer Park - This park is great during the summer and fall! With so many trees, it’s easy to find a shaded area for your senior portraits. In the fall, the trees turn beautiful shades of orange, red, and yellow. Closer to the Ice Age trail is a bridge that’s a great place to stop for some photos.

  3. JSOL - The Janesville Schools Outdoor Lab (JSOL) is absolutely stunning in the fall with all the trees changing colors! If you’re up for a short hike, there is a prairie area that is full of wildflowers in the later summer months as well. While on your way to the prairie, stop by the creek and bridge for more variety.

  4. Riverside Park - This park has a wide variety of places for your senior portraits! There are tons of weeping willows that create a green, fairy-like backdrop. Over by the tennis courts, there’s a small, rustic staircase that goes up into a wooded area. There’s also shorelines, for a more beachy look, that fade into the river.

  5. Downtown Janesville - There are so many places downtown for great senior portraits. There are colorful and historic murals all around downtown. There are lots of brick buildings for a more urban look to your photos. Town Square offers lots of places for photo opportunities, with access to the river, a watch feature with changing lights, and even a small grassy area.
